There’s still snow in the courtyard overlooking the balcony of this 82m2 family apartment in Gothenburg, Sweden. The days are gradually getting longer, the sun is getting warmer, the blue sky is often present, but the cold still lingers a little in these last days of the Swedish winter. The pastel decor of this classic apartment is complemented by a glass roof that opens onto the dining room and kitchen to create a children’s bedroom. An unusual choice, perhaps, but one that makes the most of this old apartment’s surface area.
On reading the floor plan, it seemed difficult to place this room elsewhere, even if of course it lacks privacy for the child living there. The well-preserved moldings and other antique elements add their elegance to the more recent details. Modernity is present in the furniture and the distribution of the surface area, in the layout of the green kitchen, but all the while remaining in phase with the style of the apartment, located in a building constructed at the very beginning of the 20th century.
